Gunna level with you, couldn't be arsed to think of a clever, interesting slightly puny blog title so I went basic with the whole 'look over here' thing. Not this basic but still... It's been six weeks since my baby (Sour Fruit) went out into the world. She's doing okay mainly because of the fantastic bloggers and pledgers support. Writing reviews, sharing my posts and just generally being amazing. Well Done you spanking book lovers.
So it’s Thank you time.
A big sloppy wet Thank You to all the lovely people who have reviewed Sour Fruit. To honour your efforts I will be doodling every-single-one of your gorgeous mugs. Every. Single. One. Until I have that magic number 50! Thursday's from now on will become Thank You Thursdays where I will be posting cute doodles of my reviewers. (It's also called, 'who the fuck wiped boogies on the sofa' Day as Thursday is also hoover time, but you don't need to worry about that.)
Week 1 & 2
...was the scrumptious: Sarah, Carolyn, Jolyon, Paul, Una, Gemma, Nathan, Patrick, Julia, Bill, Breckin and my Gran.
Week 3 & 4
...is the amazing Miles, Robert, Lulu, Sandra, Karen, Deborah, Chris, Eamonn, Tamsen, Ste, Katie and Sean.
Week 5 & 6
Is the dandy Robin, Emily, Struan, Keirstin, Ewan, Nat, Mark, Mel, steve and Laura.
And next week? Well is could be you! All you have to do is:
Buy Sour Fruit Read Sour Fruit Leave an honest review at either Amazon or Good Reads. Tweet me about it.
Then I doodle you up. That simple.
Reviews are amazing things...
...they’re not bunnies in headlights, they can jump and pounce escaping the eight wheeler Amazon truck heading their way, they can live in multi-places at the same time. Schrodinger's cat style. They can be thoughtful, insightful, short and sweet, one star or five. Because every single one is a reader engaging with books, whether they want to sell a kidney to find out what happens next or they rather gouge out their eyes than read another word.
So go forth and review freely my book nerds. Go Forth. Remember to message me that you've reviewed, either on The Twitter or Facebook; otherwise I might miss your super kindness and therefore wouldn't know to return the kindness in doodle form. And I'm not in it for the money or the fame, it's for the doodles. The doodle life didn't choose me...
Side Note: It's come to my attention that Amazon is being its usual self by removing reviews for no reason, not allowing two reviews from the same IP address, etc etc... (insert gripe here...) If you've found yourself on the wrong side of Big A, and you can't (or don't want to review there) then the next best place is to put a review is Good Reads. You have to sign up, but then what don't you have to hand over small parts of your soul for any more? After that, it's all the regular places like Kobo, apple books and Waterstones. Remember it's not just one place either, you can shove the same review in as many places as you feel like. So get shoving, because if my book ever makes it, I'll be ever indebted to those who helped me out in the beginning, and as my husband has his eyes on private island getaways I'm sure the island could accommodate 50 people with room left over for cocktails.
